Nicholas William Zahnle, age 36, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.  Nick, son of Vincent D. Zahnle and Lucy E. Klingelhoefer Zahnle, was born on February 22, 1985, in Clarksville, Tennessee at Ft. Campbell Army Base.  After graduating from high school, Nick enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country proudly, including a tour of duty in the Middle East.  On October 8, 2016, he was united in marriage to Melissa Ray in Joplin, Missouri.

Nick was fascinated with history of all kinds; he knew something about everything.  He enjoyed working with leather, making knives and axes, and spending time with his loving wife and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind heart. In his short time with us, Nick left a lasting impression on all our lives and will be greatly missed by so many.

Survivors include his wife Melissa Zahnle, of Rogers, Arkansas; his parents, Vincent D. Zahnle and Lucy E. Zahnle, of Plato, Missouri; his brother, Chris Zahnle and wife, Jessica Zahnle; his brother, Wolf Zahnle, all of Plato, Missouri; one sister, Gretchen Zahnle Crowder of Fayetteville, North Carolina; maternal grandfather, Paul Klingelhoefer, and his uncle, Brian Klingelhoefer of Evansville, Indiana; his aunt, Terri Klingelhoefer-Engle and uncle, Chris Engle of Ellettsville, Indiana; his aunt and uncle, Bridgette and Charles Savage of Bloomington, Indiana; his mother and father in-law, Roy and Marsha Ray, of Joplin, Missouri; sister in-law, Jennifer Clements and her husband Matt, of Joplin, Missouri; and one niece, Lucy Clements.

Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cozette Zahnle and Vincent L. Zahnle, and maternal grandmother, Wilda Lee Reynolds Klingelhoefer.
