It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James Douglas Medford, aged 86 of Witter, AR. He passed away peacefully at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR on March 23, 2025. James was born May 28, 1938, at Rosepine, LA to Robert L. and Etta Medford. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Darnell (Dee) Medford; his parents, R.L. and Etta Medford; and one brother, John L. Medford.

James had many careers over his life as a logger, mechanic, craftsman, rancher, and finally, as a tool maker for over 30 years. But James was most passionate about gospel and bluegrass music. He loved to play the fiddle and go to music festivals and revivals. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, tending to his homestead, and working on his trucks and tractors.

James is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Williams and her husband Clayton; his brother Jerry Medford and wife Peggy; his grandchildren: Malinda Masterson and husband Tildon, Tina Moore, and Tracy Moore; and his three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Medford's ashes will be interred at Witter Cemetery in a private ceremony.
