Gloria Mae Miedema, age 68, of Lincoln, Arkansas, was born in Huron, South Dakota, on June 6, 1953, to Robert and Ida (Meyers) Miedema.  She passed peacefully to the Lord on February 22, 2022, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Gloria grew up on a farm near Broadland, SD. She attended Broadland Elementary and graduated from Wolsey High.  She went on to attend Southeast Area VoTech College in Sioux Falls, SD, graduating from beauty school.

Gloria lived in Tuscon, AZ for 6 years doing restaurant work. She returned to South Dakota in 1981.  She was a master graduate of the Pilot Class of Master Gardeners.  Gloria did a lot of volunteer work at the Home Extension Office and worked at the Huron Nursing Home for 6 years.  Gloria also worked many hours in the school system.  Gloria was an avid bowler, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crafts.  In 1997, she moved to Lincoln, AR, with her significant other and best friend, Dale Weaver.  While in Lincoln, she started a monthly newsletter for her apartment complex, that she enjoyed making.  She was a member of the Skyville Extension Homemaker's Club and attended the Marrow Methodist Church.

Gloria's greatest pride and joys were her children, Eric Deneke and fiance, Krista, Wheatland, Iowa, and her daughter Fatima Abdenbi, DeWitt, Iowa. She loved her children more than anything and was an extremely proud momma.

Gloria is survived by her partner Dale Weaver, her children, her Uncles Stephen & Eddie Miedema and Aunt Lillian Busch.  Brothers Harley (Holly) Miedema, Larry (Rosemary) Miedema, sisters Charlene (LeRoy) Hendrix, Mary (Charlie) McDowell, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Nila Potter, nephew Ben Brist, niece Beth Miedema, and her very dear cousin Sharon Busch.

Her remains will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
